Audio Toolbox
Cloud-based audio processing that makes your station sound professional without expensive hardware or complex software.
Audio Toolbox enhances your stream's audio quality in the cloud. Compression, normalization, silence detection, and transcoding - all server-side, no local processing needed.
What's In Audio Toolbox?
Four cloud-based tools to enhance your broadcast
Multiband Compression
What it does: Reduces dynamic range - makes quiet parts louder, loud parts controlled. Your station sounds fuller, more professional, more "radio" than raw audio.
Why you need it: Music from different sources has different loudness. Compression evens it out. Listeners stop adjusting volume between songs.
Provider agnostic - works with any stream host
Silence Detection
What it does: Monitors your stream 24/7. Detects silence. Automatically plays backup audio + sends SMS alert. Prevents dead air.
Why you need it: Equipment fails. Cables unplug. Encoders crash. Without silence detection, your stream goes silent and listeners leave.
Backup media plays automatically until issue resolved
Stream Transcoding
What it does: Converts your stream to different formats/bitrates. One high-quality stream in, multiple optimized streams out (mobile, desktop, etc.).
Why you need it: Mobile listeners on data plans need lower bitrate. Different platforms prefer different codecs (MP3, AAC, Opus).
Supports: MP3, AAC, Ogg Vorbis, FLAC, Opus up to 320kbps
Audio Normalization
Add-onWhat it does: Ensures consistent loudness across all content. No more volume jumps between songs, shows, or audio sources.
Why you need it: Different songs have different loudness levels. Normalization makes everything the same perceived volume.
Often combined with compression for best results
Provider agnostic: All Audio Toolbox services work with any stream host - Hippynet or elsewhere. Source and target can even be different providers.
